Back in January, I met with Kelly + her parents to discuss her upcoming wedding and we started talking about their small town of Brewton, Alabama. I had never been there before, so when I drove into town for their engagement session I was so excited and had no idea what to expect! And let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint! The downtown area is so charming and quaint, I can’t wait until Kelly + Layne’s September wedding! For their engagement photos, we had 3 different locations out in the country that were special to the couple. We started at the sweet little church where Layne’s grandparents were married many years ago. I’ve said it before + I’ll say it again, I just love it when there is special meaning behind a shoot location. And I also loved that their outfits coordinated with the stained glass windows of the church! As you’ll see, Kelly + Layne are so happy together and boy, does he make her laugh! They were so sweet and kept cracking each other up throughout the entire shoot. That’s my kinda relationship! Enjoy this fun country session!!
Next, we headed to Layne’s family’s property + old farm house for our second look. Layne’s grandfather is a cattle farmer – just like mine – so we had a fun time comparing old farm stories. What, you say?! Kate’s family has a farm background? Well, now you KNOW! There were so many pretty areas to shoot, between the house, the stables and the fields, it was a dream location for a shoot!
We had a few onlookers while we were out on the field!!
I guess they really wanted their picture taken!
For our last location, we headed to another property that Layne’s family lovingly calls “The Shell House.” I was amazed by how quiet it was, definitely a peaceful getaway! The sun was setting quickly but we managed to fit in a few more photos before we called it a night. Layne + Kelly, thanks for this fun opportunity, I had such a fun time exploring the country with you!!
