Wedding season is officially here!! This year is going to be BUSY, but more importantly, really, really FUN! Along with HUGE things happening locally, we have so many clients coming to the Gulf Coast from all over the country for their destination weddings + photo sessions. So very appropriately, we started the season with a GORGEOUS destination wedding on Pensacola Beach!! The first Friday of April, I joined Jenny + John’s family + friends to watch them say “I Do!” in front of the Gulf of Mexico, far away from their home in Indiana. It has always been Jenny’s dream to get married on the beach so when the forecast called for spotty thunderstorms, (the most unpredictable of April showers,) we were all a little concerned. (I might have done an “anti-rain” dance.) Jenny + her bridesmaids were troopers and joined me on the porch for some portraits while a heavy rain came down around us, but by the time we were wrapping up, the sun was shining! And it stayed that way for the rest of the day, with a lovely sunset to top things off! (I’d like to think it was my anti-rain dance. ) Jenny + John, it was an honor + a pleasure. Enjoy your day through my lens!!
The ladies’ reaction to seeing Jenny in her dress for the first time:
Jenny’s sweet gift to her mother:
Can you believe it was raining during these portraits!?
Next, I headed over to Peg Leg Pete’s for a few portraits with John + his groomsmen:
And then it was back to the house for the ceremony, but before Jenny walked down the aisle, she got to share a special moment with John, WITHOUT seeing each other around the door! I always love these sweet moments!
Portrait time! Jenny + John had their engagement session with me just two days before their wedding, so they were warmed up and ready to go for these pictures!!
I know we used this spot for their engagement photos too, but I just couldn’t pass it up!
The light was so pretty at Hemingway’s, so we snapped a few more portraits along the water before heading in for their reception! These are definitely some of my favorites from the day!!
Some reception details:
And one last photo to end the night! Many congratulations to Jenny + John! Thanks for choosing Pensacola Beach AND Kate’s Captures for your wedding!!
