I know what you’re thinking. Kate’s fallen off the deep end! She hasn’t blogged in 2 months! And while I’m slightly embarrassed to have abandoned my little corner of the internet for this time, I must admit that it was MUCH needed. After our busiest season ever, with 32 weddings and countless other engagements, editorials, families and even pet photos, 2014 was one heck of a year. To top all of that off, less than a week after our last wedding of the season, we packed up everything that we owned and MOVED ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO SAN FRANCISCO. That’s right. Just a little cross country move. We planned for a fairly quick move, with stops in Austin, the Grand Canyon and Palm Springs, over the course of 6 days, before arriving in SF just in time for Thanksgiving. After 2 quick weeks in California, we hopped on a plane and spent a month in the Northeast with my family, with a few trips to NYC in there (including New Year’s Eve!) After 2 beautiful wedding showers thrown by our families, we were back in CA and ready to begin the apartment hunt! We had heard many horror stories of the process in the ever exclusive San Francisco market, and I’m not going to lie and say that it didn’t keep me up at night. One can only refresh the craigslist website so many times before losing a little piece of their soul! Ha! Lucky for us, we found an amazing apartment in the city VERY quickly. An absolute anomaly, a modern day fairy tale. Basically, we are LUCKY. We have spent the last month building our new life here on the West Coast. No, I literally mean building. It’s like an IKEA workshop up in here. Oh, and one more thing. Upon returning to CA it was time to dive full force into wedding planning. Yes, that’s right, our own wedding is just around the corner! I know one day I will look back on this crazy time in our lives and appreciate just how much was going on. But boy will I be happy for a day where I can sit on my new couch with a cup of coffee and just be. But until then….. I’m going to share some photos from the most relaxing part of the past few months – our absolutely GORGEOUS hotel in Palm Springs, and my new favorite place on the planet, Korakia Pensione. This is the place that dreams are made of. I could rave all day about the beautiful Mediterranean and Moroccan influence and heated pools we jumped in the moment we woke up, but I’ll let these photos speak for themselves. A little part of me stayed in Palm Springs, so I’ve made a promise to return some day. In the meantime, there is so much to look forward to this year! We have weddings from coast to coast and lots of exciting projects in the works and I promise nothing but a fantastic year. Stay tuned here on the blog for the start of the 2015 season and a beautiful Seattle engagement session, coming later this week!
