What’s sweeter than an engagement shoot on Valentine’s Day?? We kicked off the 2015 season with Caitlin + Jason’s engagement photos…. in Seattle! This was our first trip to the Pacific Northwest and was originally planned as a surprise Valentine’s trip by Jeff, but after our schedules didn’t align to fit in Caitlin + Jason’s photos in NorCal, he spilled the beans and I was able to offer to shoot their pictures in this beautiful city they call home. Naturally, we all expected rain, but Seattle’s weather was on it’s best behavior and we had great morning light and good visibility (which is VERY important in Seattle, I have since learned.) Caitlin + Jason selected a number of spots throughout the city that were special to the two of them and I couldn’t be more appreciative of their input! We were staying near the Space Needle + Pike Place, but we had no idea what charming neighborhood was awaiting us in Queen Anne Hill. Caitlin + Jason, thank you so much for sharing your Valentine’s Day with us! We hope that you enjoy these photos from a fun morning!
We started our shoot at their building (Caitlin referred to Jason’s finding of their new apartment as his “finest hour.” As a new-found city person, I can totally relate.)
We headed to Kerry Park, with a few pretty stops along the way.
When we conferred about locations prior to their session, I told Jason it would be cool if we could get somewhere with a view of the skyline…. NAILED IT. Again, I am SO thankful it was a clear day. I love this entire set!
I saw this tree from about a mile away and knew it would play a starring role in their photos! Valentine’s Day, eat your heart out.
Loved this location Jason selected!
I love a good ivy wall. They get me every time.
Thanks again! We can’t wait for July!
