They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder, and if that’s the case, then these two have a whole LOTTA love to go around. You see, after meeting in college, life in the military took them in different directions, with Casey serving tours in Seattle and Bahrain, and Catherine based here in San Francisco. There were long phone conversations and countdowns of hundreds of days until the next time they would see one another and finally, there was a countdown to the day when they wouldn’t have to say goodbye any longer; they could begin their life together. There was a feeling in the air the morning of Catherine + Casey’s wedding. A crisp, new feeling, of sorts. Now, that may have been the Lake Tahoe air, or it might have been that everyone around knew that this day was the beginning of something truly wonderful. Friends and family from afar descended upon Lake Tahoe for this incredibly beautiful destination wedding celebrating a love that had already conquered distance and was ready to take on forever. The day’s details couldn’t have been more perfect, from the bright, bursting summer sunflowers to the cowboy boots worn as a nod to Casey’s Texas roots, to the mechanical bull at their reception (not kidding) this wedding was so very Catherine + Casey. Catherine was an absolutely radiant bride and, as one of her sisters put it, “I’ve never seen her look so beautiful, and she is a BEAUTIFUL girl!” Jeff and I were welcomed into the wedding weekend as if we had long been a part of the fold, and left with smiles the size of Lake Tahoe. Catherine + Casey, we were absolutely honored to have been your photographers and hope that these photos serve as a lifetime of happy memories from a wonderful weekend celebrating you and your love.
Have I mentioned that Catherine has 6 siblings, with FIVE of them being SISTERS?! There’s nothing quite like the bond of sisters and Catherine gets it x5!!
Meanwhile, Jeff was literally right next door hanging out with Casey + his guys all morning. Suffice it to say, I think they had a little fun.
Time to get married! St. Francis of Assisi at Incline Village is one of the most beautiful places I have ever photographed a wedding! With panoramic windows looking out over Lake Tahoe, it’s truly an unforgettable place to say “I do!”
On our way down to Reno for their reception, we stopped at the Vista Point for some very windy, yet absolutely breathtaking portraits!!
After a winding drive down the mountain, we arrived in Reno and stopped in this golden field for a few more portraits. Talk about gorgeous!!
And then the party was ON!!
Catherine + Casey’s “First Ride” made all of us LOL! I have to say that this was my first mechanical bull at a wedding, and I ain’t mad at it.
And then they were married. The end. 😉
