It was like a story line straight from a movie. Lauren, far from her home in Pensacola, Florida, was living abroad in Bremen, Germany and her time there was drawing to a close. She had only 3 weeks left before she would be moving almost 8000 miles back across the Atlantic to Santiago, Chile to continue her career. It was a rare, sunny day in Bremen, and some friends had gathered to celebrate the pleasant weather with a BBQ along the river. And it was there, on that casual, lovely day by the water, that Lauren met Natalia for the first time. Natalia, a joyful, kind-hearted and loving spirit from Madrid, an intriguing beauty whose own journey had brought her there to that same sublime day. From that point, life was forever changed for them both. In those 3 remaining weeks, they became inseparable, squeezing every last second out of their time together before life forced them apart. But the thing is, 3 weeks was all they needed to know that this was something different. This was big. This was worth the fight. And so, over the course of the next two years, a long distance romance ensued as they chased each other around the world, living and traveling together throughout multiple continents; from Germany to Chile to Spain, and finally, to Miami, Florida, where they began to build their life together, and eventually, where we all gathered to celebrate them in marriage. They say that home isn’t necessarily where you live, instead, it’s who you live with, and in that case, Lauren and Natalia have most certainly found their home in each other. I’m so proud to call these two strong, determined, beautiful women my friends, and consider it the ultimate privilege to have been a part of this incredible weekend of celebration! All the love in the world to you both! ¡Viva las novias!
THIS is why you plan 10 minutes for sunset photos! Gorgeous!
To cap off the evening, a traditional New Orleans Second Line led guests to the water, where, in a touching moment, lanterns were lit in honor of lost loved ones and sent into the sky. It was the perfect end to an absolutely magical day.
