They found each other in the most modern way: two people, swiping for love and finding it, quite literally at their fingertips. A contemporary love story, where one fateful tap of a finger can change the trajectory of a person’s life. Where Andie – an East Coast girl with roots in South Florida and New England – makes her way to Southern California and the effortlessly chill city of San Diego, only to meet the love of her life, Corey, a rad dude from Maui and fellow California transplant. Two otherwise independent paths converging, thanks exclusively to today’s wide open world of dating technology. While it may have taken almost a month to schedule a successful first date, after only a few weeks of dating there was no doubt that this was truly something special. In just their first year, Andrea + Corey spent 3 months traveling together through Europe – with two backpacks and each other – a true test to any relationship and still only just the beginning of their incredible adventure. Together they now call San Diego home, living in Ocean Beach in their newly purchased (and absolutely darling) little bungalow. It was there that Corey dropped to one knee and made this a true Tinder success story, after which I received a VERY excited text message from my sweet friend asking us to be their wedding photographers, in response to which I immediately screamed out loud with excitement. Jeff and I couldn’t be any happier to document this amazing chapter in our friends’ story! We got the party started earlier this year with a fabulous SoCal engagement session. I hopped on the short flight down to San Diego for a fun-filled day spent hanging around Andie + Corey’s cozy home, exploring their awesome neighborhood and checking out the views from the cliffs of Point Loma and the Cabrillo National Monument. I just love the adventure that these two are on and cannot WAIT to continue the celebration with them later this spring!!
Why the donuts? (You may ask.)
Well, if you know Andie, it should come as no surprise! This little sweet tooth has a soft spot for treats and these top her list! We just had to incorporate them in their photos and I’m still laughing from the results.
Their sweet kitties got in on the pictures too! Mr. Charlie, their kitten, was all about the spotlight, while Penny played a bit harder to get (she literally hid under the covers!)
One of Andie + Corey’s favorite board games is Yahtzee (+ one of ours too!) so we dedicated a little time to document this fact, complete with a few bonafide, 5-of-a-kind Yahtzee rolls.
You’ll know it when you see them.
Next, we headed for the hills and the gorgeous backdrop of the Cabrillo National Moment and the Point Loma Lighthouse for their second look of the day. These two are so genuinely happy and at ease with each other, it makes taking their photos so much fun!
For our 3rd and final look, we headed back to Ocean Beach, with stops spent dodging traffic at Newport Ave and walking the Ocean Beach Pier – everything about this set felt so quintessentially San Diego!
And finally, we made our way to a top secret location 😉 in Mission Hills for some absolutely exquisite views of the city and one picture perfect California sunset.
Love you, friends!
LOVE THESE!!!!
Awesome!!
You certainly look like you were meant to be together!
