Home. A four letter word that means so much. And to Lindsay and her family, their home is the center of their lives. From the moment they moved in, they began picturing their little girl’s wedding in the yard, because, quite frankly, it’s charming and lovely and the perfect setting for a wedding. But before a wedding came other celebrations. The Walkers are KNOWN for their epic 4th of July parties, Halloween pumpkin carving parties and, my favorite, their annual Christmas lighting day, when they string hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights all around their property, with festive help from friends and family. So when Lindsay and Joseph got engaged, there was no question where their wedding would be, other than her childhood home. And true to form, there was so much meaning put into every last detail of this wedding. No aspect was left unnoticed and without a touch of memory, nostalgia or recognition of loved ones, but if you know Lindsay and Joseph, than you know it’s the way they operate. I have to admit, a part of me was a little disappointed that their wedding celebrations are over, because that’s how much I adore these two. From our first time meeting at their snowy Michigan celebration last December, I was welcomed into the homes of loved ones, seated around dinner tables as a guest, and treated like a member of the family, all while celebrating this fantastic couple. Earlier this year, after their gorgeous Carmel engagement session, Jeff and I were invited to dinner at Lindsay’s parents’ home, where we were met with fabulous food, amazing conversation and lots of laughs as we dined al fresco under the stars. Now, every few months, a new invitation pops into my inbox inviting me to the next Walker shindig, and that’s when I realize it’s not the end of celebrating with these new friends… It’s the beginning. To Lindsay and Joseph, thank you, thank you, thank you for everything. We can’t wait to keep the party going with you. Cheers, friends!
When one of your bridesmaids brings her brand new puppy for a visit, you stop what you’re doing, because PUPPIES.
Love this series in the very spot where Joseph proposed!
As we walked back to the car, a band was playing in the park, so naturally, we stopped for a quick dance!
Lindsay was SO excited to be my first bride to drive a car on her wedding day!
Once we arrived at Lindsay’s parents home, we planned a few special moments for her first encounters with her brother and dad.
