I don’t exactly recall the first time I met Kim, but the truth is, I bet she does. (If you know Kim, you know that she has an INSANELY accurate memory.) But if I had to guess, I’d say that it was in 2008 at a swim meet, and I bet she won all of her races. She was my sister’s new best friend at college and since I make it a point to make any friend of my sister’s a friend of mine, we became fast friends. As the years passed, we’ve celebrated holidays, birthdays, graduations, moves to new cities and other life milestones. When I introduced Jeff to my sister, Kim was there. And once, years later, she recalled our exact conversation from that day on the beach. (I’m not kidding about her memory!) She was at our wedding, has a set of our house keys, and has become one of the people I text almost every single day. I DO remember my first time meeting Jay – it was in San Francisco, and I was so excited to FINALLY meet the guy that stole Kim’s heart in Charleston. Now, after years of friendship, there is so much I can say about these two that they would never say about themselves, and if you’re a frequent reader here, you’ll remember that I said a lot of it in their proposal blog. But I’ll say it again here. Kim and Jay are two of the most selfless, giving, genuine souls I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing and I couldn’t be more proud that Jeff and I got to photograph their gorgeous Charleston wedding. Finally, a day to celebrate Kim and Jay. But even on a day that was supposed to be all about them, they were still always thinking of others . Case in point? They chose Charleston as their location, not only because of the sentimental value, but because it was a central location for all of their guests. They chose their venue because it was big enough to fit all of their friends and loved ones they wanted to invite. Kim’s bridesmaid gifts were ALL personalized gift bags, with presents picked specifically for each girl. Watching them open them was basically like Christmas morning, and you could tell the amount of time and effort Kim went to in order to find the perfect tokens for each of her dearest friends. And Jay’s face when Kim walked down the aisle? That was a gift for all of us. And now, with greatest pride and deepest pleasure. I present, Kim and Jay’s wedding pictures!
