Ever since Jeff proposed 6 months ago (!) I have been looking forward to blogging about our wedding planning experience and TODAY marks the very first post! In addition to giving people a glimpse into the process, this will serve as a sort of journal for us to look back on after the wedding. So….. what’s the first step?! VENUE + DATE! Jeff + I were not locked into any particular date or time of the year, only that we knew we wanted the wedding in 2015. I have long wished for a destination wedding and Jeff wanted something a little closer to his hometown, San Francisco. Now if you know us, you know that my family is all on the East Coast, so we decided that we would both get our way with a wedding in………………. SONOMA!! Jeff took me on my first trip back in 2011 and we just adore everything about this sweet little town. I am so excited for both of our families to enjoy this lovely destination. And after a little research, we’ve set our date for late March 2015 at the GORGEOUS Lodge at Sonoma! Earlier this month, we had a quick weekend trip and were able to finally tour the property ourselves and snap a few pictures. I couldn’t be happier with everything. Here are a few pictures from around the resort:
Selecting your venue is such a HUGE part of the wedding planning process and there are so many questions to ask yourself before you begin the process. Lucky for me, SimplyBridal.com recently sent me this infographic questionnaire helping to narrow down your venue choice!
Which leads me to our next big announcement:

2013 was a truly AMAZING year! I am so grateful for all of the people I was honored to photograph, collaborate or work with throughout the year. 2013 brought 18 weddings, our first year with locations spanning the country, including weddings in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Pennsylvania + California. This year also brought our first styled shoots, igniting a passion for creating beautiful images out of our own inspiration (with the help of some incredible industry peers!) In addition, our work was featured on The Knot, Style Me Pretty Florida, and we received our first national recognition on today.com! With all of that being said, none of this would be possible without the wonderful people pictured below. To my clients: I can’t thank you all enough! You are the reason why I love what I do every single day. I can’t wait to see what 2014 will bring. Here’s to the new year!
