When Nanci first contacted me last year about shooting her wedding, she already knew that she wanted to do a “Trash the Dress” session as well and I was ALL about it! The day after their wedding, I joined Nanci … Continue reading
One thing I always encourage before each session is the use of props. Whether it’s a bottle of wine to share during the session, a fun save-the-date, or a seashell we find on the beach, I love to incorporate details into my clients’ final galleries. And I’ve said it before and no doubt I will say it again + again, my clients are the coolest + always come up with the best ideas. Sometimes I don’t even know what props they will bring until we meet for photos and I am always happily surprised! If you’re feeling stumped on what to bring to your photo shoot, pinterest is FULL of ideas! Check it out today and, as always, keep an eye on this blog for the latest from Kate’s Captures Photography!
Welcome back! Day Two of my series is all about The Dress. Way back when, my very first job in the wedding industry was at David’s Bridal, where I gained a true appreciation of the dress selection process. I absolutely love getting the chance to see the different styles that each bride picks for her own gown, and how a dress can perfectly match a personality. Here are a few of my favorite shots of the year:
As promised, here are my favorites from Tasha & Mike’s amazing Trash the Dress Session. First, we rocked her original dress for some edgy photos at the graffitti bridge & railroad tracks in Pensacola before making our way back to the beach for a romantic sunset session, complete with a shorter version of her dress and my very first “true” Trash the Dress session. Tasha & Mike – I had such a fun time working with you guys – come back to Florida to visit soon!!
I was so excited when Rebecca contacted me about doing a Rock the Dress session after her wedding. We had originally planned on having the session in early September, but when the day came and temps were in the mid-90s, we decided to postpone. Lucky for us, the day we rescheduled was phenomenal and Rebecca was able to enjoy herself, rather than roast in the heat! We started at her house for a quick session with her dogs, Rocky & Maggie. They were very rambunctious and proved to be quite the challenge to photograph, but it was absolutely hilarious to watch them play in the backyard around Rebecca in her wedding dress. Next, we drove to the historic Star Barn in Middletown, Pa. for the rest of the session. It is an absolutely beautiful location to shoot, and we were there at the perfect time of day. Here are my favorites!
